They hit just at the top of the calves where they start to round out? They do have goring on the side, which is basically stretch built in in small panels to adjust to different size calves. The sizing? They run true to size. I generally wear a 9 and ordered a 9 in these. LOVE. THEM. Period. The heel height is what I love so much because they are so comfortable. *faint* Neeeever thought I'd say those words...
