80's Flair with a Dash of Urban Cowboy Chic..

Hello, Fall.... Hello, lower temperatures teasing me... Oh, but, *blushes* Helllllllllllo Boots! It's been way too long. I feel as though a part of me has been missing during these past few months of Summer's hellish temperatures. It was you!  My boots!  And now with Fall finally peeking it's glorious head out at me... *pants* It's time once again to begin another season of lusting and loving.  Of boots.  Duh.

My closet has not seen a shortage even though the temps have still been high, but so far my Nicole "Candlelight" boots in Gray are the ones getting the most lovin'.    

I am in love with these boots.. the color, number 1.. wear them with everything because they are that magical gray that "just goes" no matter what.  Number 2 love? The chains give it a little 80's flair with a dash of urban cowboy chic. And yet, they are REMOVABLE! Yep, ladies. You can take'em off if you don't like them.

What do I wear these with? Skinnies.. dark denim.. the other day, I wore them with lace fishnets and a dress. That's what I love about them.  You can totally go casual with these in a floral dress with denim vest adorned with your favorite belt and these gals or dress them up funky with slashed black leggings if you want.  There are no limits.

Oh boots.... How I love you..... Now. If the temps would just drop finally and I could drag out all of my sweaters..  There's always hope!

I know I usually don't wear flats and I ALWAYS say that, but truth is I'm just a heels kind of girl.  But every now and again a pair of flats come along that change my mind on the matter... or at least challenge the idea anyway.

Have you checked out the magazines lately? Noticed any consistent forecasting? hmmmmmm?? One in particular I keep seeing is animal prints.  There are full page spreads of it, in fact.  The designers are using animal prints in everything from coats, dresses, blouses to the smallest accessories and shoes.  Well, Nicole is no exception.   I actually got these this past spring, but living in the south with a warmer climate can take these into fall easily. A little animal to spice up a cute pair of skinnies or dress slacks for work.  I love these for the airport.

Nicole is just so easy to work and play in.. I've never seen such a versatile brand.  It's very comfortable yet doesn't have that "OMG, I'm wearing my mothers comfort shoes!" look... ya know? Not to be obnoxious, but it's the truth.  The stones are a nice touch, but not overwhelming since they are in a smoke tone.  Love the peep toe... this always equals longer wearing season and more versatility for the ladies.

Chianti Boots and a Side of Menswear

If you haven't noticed, and by noticed I mean bothered to open up a fashion mag, pay attention in the stores, or just obviously live on Mars... this season is all about boots. Yep.. It's all about the boots. And the fashion gods have blessed us with some of the boldest and most unique ones yet. If you can't find a style you like, detailing to fit your personality, a shade of the rainbow to suit your mood, or even heel/calf height that's comfortable well then I can only say to you... You're too damn picky. Come shopping with me. I'll find you 5 pair. Promise.

With all that said, one of my new favorite pairs of boots in my closet is this unique pair called "Toughen Up" from Poetic Licence. Closer look?

Hmmmmmmmm..... *licks lips* Love the Chianti leather.... so delish. The sleeve detail on this boot gives it a little extra detail to the shaft along with the buttons to finish off the shaft. It almost has a menswear look... I always see a dress shirt when I look at them.. Maybe that's just me? Maybe. *shrugs* Anyway... I love the wood stacked heel dyed to match creating a nice flow. These are perfect for dark denim skinnies or just rocking with leggings and a cute sweater once it finally cools off.

Feminism comes in many forms... sure I could wear floral prints.. maybe sport a sequin adorned headband.. but I can't think of any better way to truly show it off and rock it but with my new Poetic Licence boots named after Feminism, itself... yeah.. pure effin' cheesy win, bitches.....

Freakin' love these... and what's so insane about these is that they are navy leather... yeah. They aren't your typical black or tan or brown or BLAH Blah blah blah blah... I mean why not navy?! Seriously. There is so much dark denim out there... these are perfect to blend and yet give that pop.

The Day the Gloves Came Off..

One would think the day the white flag is raised, the gloves come off, the towel is thrown in, you give in to the statistics you might feel some relief... you've finally given in to the force over you that was so much larger than you that you knew you powerless to fight against.. so why is it now that the gloves are off, so to speak, that I feel empty?

Why do I feel apprehensive and at such a dismay about everything before me.. did you ever mean 'I do'? Where do I go now.. Where do I go from here? Am I as strong as I think I am, as everyone tells me I am? Am I strong enough to live through the disappointment I've caused my family? Am I strong enough to live through the small town gossip that has already begun to fester? Small minds will pay one day.. they have nothing better to do with their time than to feed off of others' pain. I hope my pain comes back to haunt them ten fold. We were always better than this little town.. you just could never see that.. you could never realize how much more you could do.. never wanted to try.. I've grown weary... so weary of trying to help you realize this.. to keep pushing towards my own potential outside of this town and pushing you towards yours.. I have no choice now.. I'm forced to choose.

My first love... so hard to leave that innocence.. something that was once so pure and real. But I am no longer good for you. I am nothing more than a poison to you and you to me. I am no longer this beautiful person you married in your eyes.. I am no longer that wife to show off, to walk along with you at events.. to act that perfect way.. say the perfect things.. no, I am no longer that girl.. that girl you put on a pedestal.. no, that girl you let fall off. She's crashed to the ground. She's shattered and broken and not sure she can be whole again after you.. Did she ever exist? Your memory has already wiped her clean... she's gone.. she's nothing more than this roommate that lives in the spare bedroom when she's home for a few days from work before heading back out on another business trip..

My gloves are off. My white flag is in the air. My heart is shattered in the floor. You're walking on the pieces. My voice is silent. My tears are raging inside so you cannot see. Enjoy your life. This fight goes to you.

This girly almost diva'ish twist on the utilitarian look for fall is a great addition to any closet. Just glad they came to live in mine.. *sighhhhhh* The blush color is perfect for acting as that "match all" in your closet this season. Seriously. And living in the south, I can rock a peep toe pretty much year round annnnnnnd plan on it. *struts in new sassy booties*



Another thing I love is the heel height on these pretties. I mean... PERFECTO! With a cork platform, these are definitely to be worn all day any day. Trust me. I have this same boot in 2 other colors from last season....... yep. TRUST ME. *nods*
